If you stroll through the Queen Victoria Gardens on St Kilda Rd, you’ll see an intricate matrix of white steel forming, with the city’s skyline as its backdrop. Yes, MPavilion 2019 by Glenn Murcutt AO is currently being built right in the heart of Melbourne! Our build partners Kane Constructions are once again at the helm, ensuring Glenn’s vision comes to life with the utmost attention to detail. Glenn was recently onsite to oversee the build—and our photographer Anthony Richardson captured the moment.

Why not check in yourself and see the work of Australia’s most famous architect materialising in real time—and be sure to join us for our Opening Weekend celebrations when MPavilion 2019 opens on 14 November.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
