Kate Ellis

Kate Ellis is a drama coach for film and television actors, a progressive arts and English education innovator, a writer and a community-program developer. She drives each of these roles with the belief that sensory rapture can be cultivated in the everyday, and that deeper levels of intimacy with self, other and environment can be achieved through the art of listening. Kate has worked with actors such as Lucy Fry and Daisy Axon, has facilitated community programs at the Abbotsford Convent and for the Victorian Arts Education Festival, and her writing can be found in various books and online journals.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
