The creative collaboration between florist Hattie Molloy and urban beekeeper Nic Dowse of Honey Fingers, this installation will be a sensory and harmonious meeting of all things nature. Akin to a natural ecosystem, Hattie and Nic’s installation will include the exhibition of bees on natural honeycomb structures inside a sealed, clear vitrine case, or observation hive.
Hattie and Nic’s work will highlight the integral and delicate equilibrium bees play in earth’s natural ecosystem, as well as evoking feelings of life, growth and the pollination process of botanicals.
On the evening of Thursday 23 January, the community are invited to view the release of the bees from the observation hive, in a releasing ceremony, where the bees will be released to make their journey back home.
Bee Release: Thursday 23 January, 6–9pm
Installation: Thursday 23 January to Monday 27 January
This event is supported by the Hugh D.T Williamson Foundation.
