Zadie Mccracken

Zadie Mccracken is a Melbourne-based writer, producer and spoken word artist. Zadie has been published in Ramona Magazine, Rosie, Fluff and Verve Magazine, and regularly performs at Fledgling Magazine’s Talkbox. She’s been shortlisted for multiple writing awards, including the Somerset Novella Writing Competition and the Slade Literary Awards, and has performed at events such as the Northcote Social Club’s Dear Diary and The Penny Mint’s Penny Takes The Stage.

In 2018, Zadie was a producer in Darebin Arts’ inaugural Let’s Take Over program, and is an ongoing part of Body of Knowledge, a theatre project held between Melbourne, Sydney and Amsterdam. In addition to writing, producing and performing, Zadie likes painting, making to-do lists, wearing glitter and watching TV

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
