Josh Klooger

Josh Klooger is a 29-year-old former gig economy worker. After working for two years in the industry with foodora he spoke out about the poor working conditions and his role was terminated as a consequence. Klooger went to the fair work ombudsman over wrongful termination, establishing the precedent that all his fellow workers are actually employees – this action contributed to foodora’s exit from the Australian market. He is currently in his last year of a science education degree at Deakin university and, as a keen cyclist, is on track to reaching his goal to cycle 25,000km.

Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc.
