Raag Bhatia

Raag Bhatia is a DJ and a core organisers at Cool Room, an artist collective and event series focused on changing conversations around representation and safety in electronic music, while creating a safer space for marginalised peoples to dance. Across varied sonic terrain, over five years and through parties, panels, and showcases, Cool Room has sought to highlight women, gender diverse folk, queers, and people of colour pushing boundaries and excellence in their work. Cool Room has worked across nightclubs, DIY, and online spaces on building a community of artists, audience and collaborators by regularly driving discussion, promoting cross-pollination between event organisers and scenes, while showcasing emerging and established artists from local and international regions.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
