‘Sinkhole’ deals with improvised scenarios and the agency of its performing body by responding to a text-based score. This ongoing collaborative project between Naarm-based artists Jess Gall, Arini Byng and Rebecca Jensen includes over thirty participants. Since 2018, it has had nine iterations across exhibition, workshop and live-event curations: in an ACCA Academy workshop; in Liquid Architecture’s ‘Airing the Share’ at RMIT Design Hub; in ‘To Do/ To Make’ at 215 Albion, and at Irene Rose Gallery.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
