DJ JNETT

Inarguably the don of house music in Australia, Janette Pitruzzello aka DJ JNETT has brought heat to Melbourne’s music culture since the early 90s, with an inimitable underground sound that truly defies any categorization.
Her boundless crates of wax & supreme turntable technique spans through a galactic wormhole of house, techno, funk, soul, disco, dub, reggae, afro, brasilian and hip hop with a kid gloved finesse like no other, winning over the broadest of audiences every time.

Between co-hosting underground sonic feasts ‘Strictly Vinyl’ and ‘Equal People’ with her disco pals, DJ JNETT pulls an amalgamated army – from teenage club kids through old skool dance veterans – to every floor she conducts. Whether it’s Sugar Mountain’s Boiler Room stage, Freedom Time Festival, Golden Plains Festival, RBMA Weekender, Strawberry Fields, or (without a doubt) every institutional house music club in the country, Janette has planted her flag at every checkpoint of Australia’s dance music itinerary.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
