Roshelle Fong

Roshelle Fong is a Chinese-Australian multidisciplinary artist and a participant in Melbourne Theatre Company’s Women in Theatre Program 2019. Her immersive food delivery show nomnomnom won Melbourne Fringe Festival 2018’s Innovation in Culturally Diverse Practice Award. She has since adapted the show in Seyðisfjörður, East Iceland, at Testing Grounds (supported by City of Melbourne and Australia Council for the Arts), in Sydney (for Kings Cross Hotel’s Vivid program) and in Zhujiajiao, Shanghai (supported by the Ian Potter Cultural Trust). She was recently a writer for Theatreworks show She is Vigilante and is a Next Wave 2020 commissioned artist.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
