Samadar Aukal

Samadar Aukal is an architect, born and raised in Shfar-am, Israel. She received her architecture degree from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jerusalem. Her final project, which focused on the preservation of depopulated Palestinian villages, was presented as part of the “Conservation of Cultural Heritage” unit. Since 2017 she has been working at an architecture and town planners office in Jerusalem and as a teaching assistant in Bezalel. She is currently doing her master’s degree in City Design at the Royal College of Art in London under the instruction of Dr. Tarsha Finney.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
