What are the challenges that face Melbourne’s night time creative economy?
Join us for an interdisciplinary panel discussion on the macro and micro pressures that face Melbourne’s night time creative spaces. We’ll hear from representatives from the environment, government, and academic sectors on the role of spatial planning in the life cycle of these spaces, and how design can mitigate the impacts of night time activity, while ensuring night spaces are safe and inclusive. The discussion will also address how decision makers can engage with and promote the night time creative economy, and look at what we can do to open up night time spaces to broader audiences, without losing their essential qualities.
The conversation will be live streamed on Skylab Radio – a Melbourne-based online radio station championing the city’s multitude of unique musical voices – before transitioning into DJ performances. Come down, grab an evening drop from the Kiosk, and experience an immersive evening of discussion and music, designed to celebrate and examine the cultural inclusiveness of Melbourne’s nighttime community.
