Storytelling has been at the heart of every culture since the dawn of humankind. It’s how we’ve sought to make sense of who we are and how we interact with the world around us. From rock walls and campfires to theatres and dinner tables, the platforms for our storytelling have been as varied as the yarns themselves. As we find ourselves deeper and deeper in the digital age, our natural inclination to process experience through storytelling can be challenged.

In this interactive workshop, the team at School of Life will share tips and ideas for finding your stories through conversation and reflective practices. The team will help you find meaning in some of the key experiences of your life and give them a narrative arc. Whether it’s a poignant story of loss, a fast-paced thriller or a rip-snorting comedy of errors, you’ll learn to craft your story and deliver it in a way that leaves you feeling invigorated and empowered.

Wominjeka (Welcome). We acknowledge the Yaluk-ut Weelam as the traditional custodians of the land on which we meet. Yaluk-ut Weelam means ‘people of the river camp’ and is connected with the coastal land at the head of Port Phillip Bay, extending from the Werribee River to Mordialloc. The Yaluk-ut Weelam are part of the Boon Wurrung, one of the five major language groups of the greater Kulin Nation. We pay our respects to the land, their ancestors and their elders—past, present and to the future.
