Calling all emerging and budding designers! Join internationally celebrated Australian designer Chris Connell for a very special presentation and drawing workshop at MPavilion. Chris is an icon of Australian design—his practice, Chris Connell Design, has been celebrated near and far for almost thirty years, known for its innovation and dedication to local creativity and craft. Chris’s achievements include his Pepe chair designed in 1992, now in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
Chris has also designed the specially commissioned ‘MP Stool’ for use during our season of free events—you can drop into MPavilion any day and see the elegant stools inspired by Glenn Murcutt’s pavilion and manufactured in Melbourne in collaboration with grazia&co.
During his workshop, Chris will begin with a presentation discussing the design process of the MP Stool and then facilitate a sketching workshop, with attendees drawing to a brief. The workshop will conclude with a light critique.
